WE NEED TO TALK ABOUT THIS WHOLE GLOSSY EYELID THING

It's fair to say I'm fairly outgoing when it comes to clothes; one of my prime sources of fun comes from trying new styles and putting together outfits. So why why why am I so stuck in my ways when it comes to make-up?

I think most of us will have 'go-to' make up looks - e.g. my daytime look pretty much everyday is cool-toned eyeshadow, winged black liner and velvet teddy. When it comes to nights out, I've usually fake tanned pretty hard the night before, so I'm always wearing gold eyeshadow and highlight, and often a brown lipstick.

I'm also pretty guilty of merely skimming the beauty pages in magazines, whereas I absolutely devour the fashion pages. I LOVE make up, don't get me wrong, I'm not a MUA by any stretch of the imagination, but I'm not lying when I say I love beauty products. With that said, from here on in, I'm going to make more of an effort with the beauty portion of my blog.

Trends come and go in the beauty world just as often as fashion, but it's usually only the huge viral ones that make an impact on your average gal - think dewy skin or contouring. One that has been coming and going a few times in the magazines is glossy, wet-look eyes.

This is something I have admired (from afar, very far) for a long while. I love how fresh and editorial it looks, with a nude or clear colour it can be so simple. Anyway, in a nutshell, todays the day I finally tried it and basically I loved it and I'm definitely gonna do it again.

It's also super easy, I just put on a blanket of a pale pink eyeshadow, and then applied a mix of vaseline and lip gloss - I know it sounds like that would feel gross on but it actually didn't! I tried to apply it with a brush at first but I found it much easier to just use my finger. So so so easy.

Thank you for reading! What do you think of glossy lids? xx
