If you noticed a drastic change in my hair this year, you probably know that it was the amazing hairdressing at Bang that I have to thank. Bang have two salons in York, and this Saturday I attended the party that marked ten years of Bang. My favourite thing about the salons is you can tell that they have so much creativity, and have a very strong and talented team. Competing and winning awards, and racking up likes on Instagram is all in a days work for the Bang staff.

What was so lovely about the event was the atmosphere there was around the Bang team. It was clear from the beautiful flowers and the emotion in their voices that the staff all love their place of work, and from what I’ve seen it’s a great thing to be a part of. They’re a very creative team, with a strong motivation to move forward - this is why Sarah (the head hairdresser girlboss) is the regional finalist for the British Hairdressing awards; the top stylist for the north east! This is a seriously big deal, and already a reason to celebrate, as well as it being 10 years since Bang opened.

I headed backstage before the show for a preview of the models: they each had a unique creative design, from braids and buns to ponytails. Watching the models on the catwalk at the event was great but it was amazing to see the preparation that went in to these intricate looks. Check out the incredible looks here:

And almost as it couldn’t get better, the event was in fact for charity. The two causes were St Leonard's Hospice and Mind, with all proceeds going straight to the charities, and there was staff from both charities to talk to guests and encourage more fundraising.

Make sure you go and check out Bang and give them a like on Facebook
